Blue Prism Digital Workers are Team Players at Carrier

Carrier Corporation, a market leader in HVAC products, spun off from its parent company it took a fresh look at its internal operations. The outcome was an intelligent automation program that allowed the company to scale to respond to changing market needs, drive efficiencies and improve the customer and employee experience—all without adding significant cost to the bottom line.

This intelligent automation newcomer had fun with its automation program when it introduced “Willis,” “Cha-Ching,” “Airy” and “Louise Berg” to their human colleagues. Robotic Process Automation Digital workers are positioned as “work buddies” to balance any concerns associated with automation.

  • Willis has taken on the job quote process, saving his pricing and strategy team members 900+ hours and allowing them to focus on strategic work.
  • As you may guess, Cha-Ching works on a cash application process and has saved the company more than $25,000 due to his speed and accuracy.
  • Airy executes 60,000 buybacks and inventory sale transactions each year, freeing human colleagues to spend time working directly with customers.
  • And last, but not least, Louise Berg has doubled the processing speed for Carrier’s distributor-to-distributor invoice process.

“Airy has given the team control of orders and allowed them to become a mostly paperless department. The team can now spend time helping clients become more efficient with ordering and handling disputes,” said Carrier’s CIO and Chief Digital Officer Gundeep Singh.

Carrier saw $25,000 in savings in their cash application process, 3 days reduced turn-around time and now invoices are processed twice as fast. Beyond that, Carrier won Blue Prism‘s 2020 Americas All-Star award for “Excellence in RPA – RPA Newcomer.” This award was given to the Blue Prism customer in the Americas region who has been using intelligent automation for less than one year and has been able to drive substantial value during that time. Key criteria for this award were the extent to which the original scope of the program was exceeded, efficient use of Blue Prism’s Robotic Operating Model, and successful internal adoption of RPA.
