InRule

InRule provides technology for the authoring, management and verification of application decision logic that involves rules, calculations and dynamic user interfaces. Allowing business users to author and maintain complex rules and calculations in core business applications to allow for better business agility and to dramatically reduce the dependence on IT resources to evolve an application. A rules engine allows end users to make dynamic "real time" changes to their applications in plain English, not code

A KeyMark solution including the application of business rule engine technology will decrease development and maintenance costs for core business applications by as much as 50% or more.

TECHNICAL OVERVIEW

Using InRule within an application in ten easy steps:

  1. Define fields, calculations, and rules using any combination of three types of authoring capability.
  2. Use repository SDK to organize the rules in a format the repository and subsequently the rule engine can understand.
  3. The repository organizes the rules into the rule application structure that defines all the necessary components for the rules to execute.
  4. Rule applications are stored in the repository where users can version rules and check in/checkout rules for modification.
  5. While the rules are being developed by end-users, developers create the containing application/solution that will utilize rules functionality.
InRule can be embedded in a web or Windows-based application.
  6. Once the application is completed (in this case it is a web-application), the application passes information to the rule engine for processing
including input data and the rules application to run against the data.
  7. InRule Server then takes the requests and determines what rules to run.
  8. InRule Server asks the InRule Repository for the applicable rule definitions.
  9. The InRule Engine then runs the rules against the input data to get the results.
  10. The decisions are then passed back to the “calling” application so that it may present the results to the end user or take additional actions.
